How to cook Deegcheh

Deegcheh is a traditional food from Mashad. Deegcheh is a saffron and sweet rice that it cooks by milk instead of water. Test and enjoy it !

 

  1. Soak rice for 2 to 3 hours. Then drain it and let it boil with milk on the low heat until rice becomes like pulp.
  2. Then add sugar and cardamom and then cover the pot with napkin and a lid.
  3. Let the rice cooks for an hour. Spread hot rice on a rectangular dish and pour chopped pistachios. After it becomes cold slice it in a small pieces and serve it.
